I go my first cell phone when I was 15. It was a Nokia brick and I changed the face plate to a hideous lime green one which I thought was super cool. It had a tiny screen, big buttons, and Snake. I remember texting friends while I was in class which resulted in a few huge monthly bills because this was during the time that you were charged for every text sent AND received. Cell phones have come a long way. Our days revolve around them. They are our calenders, cameras, recipe books, T.V’s, music players, and occasionally even used to talk to other people. With the invention of smart phones we now have access to the whole world and can run successful businesses from our beds. With the thousands of apps that we have available to us it’s easy to get lost in that screen, only looking up to make sure we don’t walk into poles.
I love my phone. I use it to learn new things, connect via social media, play games, and most importantly keep fit. There are many apps devoted to fitness and health that make it so easy to stick to a fitness plan. One of my favourite apps that I have recently started using is called WeightTraining (Weighttraining.com). This app is free, but they do have payment options where you can get live help, and customized fitness and nutrition plans. Basically, this app has many different workout programs and routines from beginner to expert, and from 1-7 days a week. All you do is pick a plan that works for you and your goals and start logging every workout. And with workouts like Batman, Channing Tatum, and Brazilian Butt Workout plan it’s easy to find something you will enjoy doing. If you don’t know how to do a certain exercise they have videos to help you get the proper form. This app allows you to keep track of how much you lift so you can track your progress over time. It shows you the calories you have burned and let’s you even compete with others. You also get points for tracking your workout and you get badges when you hit certain milestones. The website and app also have nutrition plans so that you can reach your goals faster.
One reason that apps like this work for people is that it makes you accountable for your fitness goals. By logging your workouts with such detail and seeing the progress it motivates you to continue on your healthy path. This app lets your phone become your own personal trainer, and nothing’s wrong with some free personal training. I definitely suggest giving this app a try and you won’t be disappointed.
