As most of you know I am an organic and natural product junkie, but that wasn’t always the case. I would basically buy what was on sale or what my friends would buy, without so much as a glance at the ingredients list. When I learned how animals were used in the testing of skin and makeup products I immediately switched to cruelty free and vegan stuff. Then, as I discovered what some of those chemicals we rub in our skin were linked to I knew that if I wanted to live a healthy and long life I would have to make real changes. I have reduced my daily skin, hair and makeup products drastically, and only use a full face of makeup when the occasion calls for it. I have noticed that my skin has gotten better, and my hair doesn’t have that fake smoothness and gloss that it gets with a bottle of Pantene. I also love finding new natural products to use, especially when I can pronounce all of the ingredients. I will always share the products I find that I absolutely love, but in the meantime I am sharing some information that I came across to help you when you choose what you put on your body.
Think about how many chemicals go on your body a day. There is soap, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, face cream, eye cream, deodorant, hair product, makeup, and everything else you add in between. That’s a whole lot of stuff that could be doing some major damage. AND, each of these things have a long, unpronounceable list of ingredients and chemicals. Be smart when shopping for what goes on your body because it’s just as important as what goes into it. There is nothing governing a a company from calling their product ‘natural’, so, always read the labels to be sure.
